Now that See season 1 has ended, fans are curious if there will be a See season 2. Created by Steven Knight and directed by Francis Lawrence, the Apple TV+ series features a futuristic world where humans have been blinded and have little understanding of what transpired on Earth in the distant past.

Apple's See season 1 stars Jason Momoa as Baba Voss, the leader of the Alkenny tribe. He’s married to Maghra (Hera Hillmar), and he’s also the adoptive father of Kofun (Archie Madekwe) and Haniwa (Nesta Cooper), who were born with sight and fathered by a mysterious man known Jerlamarel. Meanwhile, a witchfinder named Tamacti June (Christian Camargo) does the dirty work for Queen Kane, the ruler of the Payan Kingdom. See season 1 chronicles the unique survival tactics of the main characters, all the while unravelling the mysteries associated with Kofun and Haniwa’s birth father.

Near the conclusion of See season 1, Kofun and Haniwa separate from Baba Voss and venture off into Jerlamarel’s House of Enlightenment. They mourn the death of Maghra, who is not only revealed to be alive and well, but also the sister of Queen Kane (and the heir to the throne). Here’s what to expect from See season 2.

See Season 2 Renewal

On November 7, Apple officially announced that See season 2 had been ordered, along with new installments of For All Mankind and Dickinson. However, it had previously been reported that all three series were picked up long before. See season 1 was originally ordered in January 2018 and consists of eight episodes. Apple premiered the first three episodes on November 1 and released new episodes every Friday through December 6.

Given that Apple TV+ is a new streaming service, it’s unclear how new seasons will be produced. What is known, however, is that Apple reportedly invested $240 million for both See season 1 and See season 2. Unless Apple has already filmed and completed new episodes, it seems unlikely that See season 2 will release in 2020. But Apple TV+ subscribers shouldn't completely rule out a possible November 2020 return date until an official announcement is made.

See Season 2 Story Details

Jason Momoa in Apple TV+ Series See

In the See season 1 finale on Apple TV+, Maghra and Queen Kane take control of the Witchfinder army, and state that Tamacti Jun had killed himself out of shame. At the House of Enlightenment, Jerlamarel betrays his children and plans to send Haniwa away to a general. Baba Voss emerges, saves Kofun, and blinds Jerlamarel - an ironic twist of fate. A climactic moment also implies that Tamacti Jun will literally rise from the ashes of a burning building, and will undoubtedly seek revenge against Maghra and Queen Kane.

For See season 2, the primary conflict will likely revolve around Baba Voss’ inevitable confrontation with Edo and attempts to secure Haniwa’s safety. Over at the Payan Kingdom, Maghra may have to deal with a possible uprising due to Tamacti Jun’s survival. Expect See season 2 on Apple TV+ to build towards a dramatic reunion between Baba Voss’ band of outsiders and Maghra’s witchy clan.
